Say Goodbye to Flat, Oily Hair

By Teresa Valley

Tired of spending your precious time blow-drying and styling your hair in the morning  (when you could be catching an extra 30 minutes of sleep) only to find it flat and oily by the end of the day?  Our hair naturally absorbs oils throughout the day; these oils are good for our hair and actually protect our hair from damage.  But for those of us whose hair absorbs too much oil, we will find our hair flat and heavy by the end of the day.

Well girls (and guys if you happen to have long hair) I have found the perfect solution.

The beauty supplier Bumble and Bumble makes an incredible product called hair powder. It is a powdery spray that you spray on the roots of your hair, instantly absorbing the access oil and lifting your roots.  Not only does it absorb the oil, but it also instantly lifts your hair and gives it more volume.  The best thing about this product is it comes in many different colors to match your hair. It enhances your color so it is also great for people who dye their hair and need a quick root fix .

It has been proven that it’s much healthier to wash your hair every other day, but if you have oily hair this just not be an option, until now. With this product I am able to blow dry and style my hair one day and the next morning I simply spray on the powder and it looks as if I had just styled it!

The only problem with the product is it is pricy, at $19 for 1 oz. and $35 for 4 oz.  An inexpensive alternative is baby powder, which does the trick in terms of absorbing the oil, but you sacrifice the volume and color enhancers.

I use a similar product from Sephora but it is much cheaper. Its $18 for 3.2 oz. I’d recommend it to anyone as a cheaper alternative to the Bumble and Bumble product. The product I use is called Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo, check it out! http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P216708&categoryId=B70
