College filmmakers have been hard at work through the weekend to complete their short films for Monday afternoon’s submission deadline. Campus Movie Fest kicked off on April 13th, and students were given a week to create a 5-minute short film to be submitted to a jury of Fordham faculty and student judges.

The filmmakers were free to create an original piece with few restrictions yet limited time.

When asked to comment after fifteen straight hours in the editing lab, Zade Constantine, FCLC ’11, co-creator of the short film The Constable, said “Take your comment and shove it.”

It was evident that the stresses and pressure of producing a film that could rival his peers was taking its toll on the young promising filmmaker.

His partner Alex Armero stepped in to add that he hoped to win the competition, “but merely sharing the experience with some promising talent was just as fulfilling.”

The submissions will be examined and then scored by a jury. Only sixteen films will make the cut to be shown at the April 28th Grand Finale on the McGinley Lawn at the Rose Hill Campus.
