Bookish: This Week in Literary

Matt Petronzio, literary editor

There are plenty of free literary events available to Fordham Lincoln Center students right here in our area. Listed below are a couple that are happening this week:

Columbus Circle Borders (Time Warner Center, 2nd Fl.)
10 Columbus Circle
New York, NY 10019

My Dog Tulip
Thursday, September 2, 2010 7:00 p.m.
The filmmakers of the independent film My Dog Tulip, based on the 1956 book of the same name by J.R. Ackerley about a man’s friendship with his German Shepherd, will be at the Borders down the street. According to Animation Magazine, the film–though animated–appeals mostly to adults. The filmmakers will show clips from the film and explain the process of translating a book onto the screen.

Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble
1972 Broadway (at 66th)
New York, NY 10023

NOOK Training Session
Saturday, September 4, 2010 10:00 a.m.
Every Saturday at 10 AM, our local Barnes & Noble (just on the other side of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts) offers training sessions for their eBook reader the NOOK. The B&N experts can help you navigate your fully-charged reader, but you have to pre-register at the NOOK desk (oh, yes, they have a “NOOK desk”) and space is limited.

Be sure to check the Observatory on a regular basis to stay up-to-date on the awesome book events, signings, readings, and releases that happen in our neighborhood all the time.
