Replenish Yourself & Your Karma Points

Malaya V. Saldaña

Midterms have you stressed out and out of your mind? Nothing is more fulfilling than helping yourself by helping others… or just letting others help you.

So this week replenish yourself through a couple of great opportunities provided by the Dorothy Day Center of Service and Justice.

1. Service & Justice Day: It’s My Park

When: Saturday, October 23rd — 9:00AM-2:30PM

Where: DeWitt Clinton Park (W 52nd and 54th between 11th and 12th Ave), but a group will be meeting at the Plaza to go together.

What: Each year 1,000’s of New Yorkers remind us the preciousness of our parks. For New Yorks seemingly rare greenspace is not property of obscure New York government; “It’s My Park,” it’s your park and it’s our park. Dorothy Day Center of Service & Justice will be going to DeWitt Clinton Park to do some weeding and planting so come in comfortable clothes! And remind New York and yourself that these parks are yours and ours. Tell your Facebook friends you’re attending here.

2. DDCSJ’s 1st Community Brunch

When: Thursday, October 28th — 12:00-1:30PM

Where: Room 901

What: Who doesn’t love free food? Now what about free food and inspiration? DDCSJ want to see you at their first community brunch! Come and learn to be a part of something greater. This is the chance to actively participate in building a community of volunteers and inspire prospective volunteers to become agents of positive change. So come and discover the issues facing our community while unleashing the potential you see for your community and yourself.

Now keep up on your karma points, because everyone knows that there is no better investment than a life worth living and time well spent doing asserting the positive for yourself and for others
