New Urgent Care Medical Facility Just Around the Corner!

A new urgent care facility opened last week on the corner of 69th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. No appointments are necessary to get checked out for common illnesses and injuries, minor emergencies, and services including x-rays, physicals and vaccinations. The best part? They say their goal is to have you in and out in under an hour, which beats most doctors, let alone the emergency room!

The facility is “staffed exclusively by board certified emergency physicians,” according to its Web site, which means you’ll get the best possible care. The two doctors have close to 40 years of experience between them, and are both Ivy League educated and well versed in emergency care. Learn more about the doctors here.

The only downside to this facility is that they don’t take insurance, which means you have to pay up front and send in documentation to your insurance company to be reimbursed. However, at $175 for a typical visit, the clinic charges less than half of the cost of a typical emergency room visit, according to its Web site, which is ideal for those who are uninsured.

Urgent Care Manhattan is open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, which sure beats the hours at the Fordham Medical Suite. Give them a call at (212) 721-4200 to learn more, or visit their Web site at www.urgentcaremanhattan.com. You can even like them on Facebook!
