Breaking: FCLS Student Dies in Afghanistan

Christina Frasca, news editor
Nicholas Aleman, a Fordham College of Liberal Studies student at Lincoln Center, was killed in Paktia province, Afghanistan, on Dec. 5, 2010, while on duty with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Aleman, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., was on a leave of absence from FCLS to return to duty in Afghanistan. Tis was his second tour overseas.

The Office of Student Affairs said counseling is available to any students who request it. Contact Counseling & Psychological Services at 212-636-6225 or Keith Eldredge, dean of students at Lincoln Center, at 212-636-6250 with any questions about
counseling services.

A memorial service on the Lincoln Center campus will take place in the near future. More details to come.
